We open on Blaine and Kurt singing “Let It Snow,” and after their much-loved holiday duet last season, this doesn’t disappoint. They’re Old Hollywood to a T, a spot-on tribute to male duets of yesteryear with that knowing undercurrent of romance even when it’s not explicit. They finish and then notice the cameras, inviting the viewer in, Kurt introducing Blaine as his “best friend and holiday roommate” and they continue to queerly navigate the wink-nudge situation, with the two discussion the weather and how it’s keeping their friends and impeding Kurt from bidding on an item from the Elizabeth Taylor collection (a joke which references a cut scene from the episode where Blaine gifts Kurt a ring made of gum wrappers instead of the gift he wanted but couldn’t afford from the Elizabeth Taylor collection).
